01Overview

Where the YBCB-HP-919 Series Sits

The YBCB-HP-919 series is nine direct-drive trims spanning 0.75 to 18.5 kW, quoted at 2900 RPM: airflow from 617 to 5153 m³/hr and static pressure up to 9149 Pa. It sits between a low-pressure ventilation fan and a positive-displacement machine — real static pressure and high volume from one direct-drive unit.

02READING THE CURVE

Every model is a line between two known points

A centrifugal blower does not have one flow and one pressure; it has a curve. The hero chart plots each 919 model as the segment between its two catalogue points — the loaded end, where it develops maximum static pressure at lower flow, and the open end, where flow is highest and pressure eases. Your installation operates where that curve crosses your system’s resistance line. Read the chart and you can see instantly which trims can reach your duty and which cannot.

The family climbs cleanly. The 0.75 kW trim sits low and left — a few hundred m³/hr at ~2 kPa. Step up through the range and both axes grow, until the 18.5 kW YBCB-HP-919-18.5 reaches past 9 kPa and 5000 m³/hr. Notice that the 11 kW trim develops higher pressure than the larger-flow 7.5 kW unit: on a centrifugal machine, a higher-pressure wheel is a different trade than a higher-flow one, even at similar power.

Because all of this is anchored to 2900 RPM, supply frequency is a first-order variable, not a footnote. Move to 60 Hz and the wheel spins faster; flow rises with speed and pressure rises with the square of speed. Always size against the curve at your actual supply frequency.

03Selection Guide

Sizing to Your Duty Point

Size on the static pressure the system actually needs first, then on air flow — a trim that cannot hold your resistance will not deliver its rated volume whatever its power rating. Read the two figures together in the specification table below and choose the trim whose operating window contains your duty point.

05CONSTRUCTION & MOTOR

Heavy where high pressure demands it

Static pressure at 2900 RPM puts real load into the volute and the wheel, so the 919 is built stout: a rigid fabricated steel volute, a backward-curved high-pressure impeller dynamically balanced to run smooth at speed, and a substantial shaft and bearing arrangement. The rising shipping weight across the range — from 39 kg to 240 kg — is the honest signature of that rigidity, not padding.

Drive is direct: the impeller sits on the shaft of a 2-pole TEFC motor (IE2/IE3, IP55, F-class), so there is no belt to tension and no drive loss. Inlet and outlet are flanged for ducting; inlet filtration, silencers and anti-vibration mounts are specified to the installation. On abrasive dust duty, mount the blower on the clean side of the collector to keep the wheel out of the particulate stream.

06INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE

Installation & Maintenance

Set the 919 on a rigid, level foundation with anti-vibration mounts sized to its mass — a heavy high-speed wheel transmits real dynamic load, and a flexible base makes noise and shortens bearing life. Confirm impeller rotation against the volute arrow before loading; a centrifugal wheel run backward moves a fraction of its rated air and masks the fault. Fit flexible connectors on inlet and outlet so duct forces and thermal growth never load the flanges.

Keep the wheel on clean air — on dust duty that means the clean-air side of the collector. Monitor bearing temperature and vibration; an ingested lump or built-up deposit unbalances the wheel and is the classic failure. Re-grease or replace bearings on schedule, inspect the impeller for wear and deposit at intervals, and keep silencer and filter elements serviced so the machine holds its curve.

Commissioning checklist

  • Foundation level, anti-vibration mounts torqued to mass.
  • Rotation checked against arrow; flow verified, not assumed.
  • Flexible connectors fitted; ducting independently supported.
  • Baseline current, bearing temp and vibration logged.
  • Silencer / filter service interval set to the dust load.

07INDUSTRIAL DUTY

Built for high-resistance, round-the-clock air

The 919 series exists for the jobs where static pressure is the binding constraint — long ducts, dense filter media, deep beds and burner backpressure. These are continuous-duty machines, and the construction reflects it.

  • High-resistance extractionFume, grinding-dust and fine-particulate collection through dense cartridge or bag media where a low-pressure fan would stall. The 919 holds face velocity against a loaded filter.
  • Combustion & burner airForced-draught combustion air and burner supply that must overcome furnace and duct backpressure at a steady, high static figure.
  • Pneumatic conveyingHigher-pressure dilute-phase conveying of powders and granules over longer runs than a CX turbo blower manages.
  • Drying ovens & kilnsRecirculation and supply air for industrial drying and curing, pushing hot air through restrictive plenums and nozzle banks.
  • Vacuum & hold-down at scaleCentral vacuum and large hold-down platens where high static vacuum across a big area is needed from one machine.
  • Process cooling & aerationHigh-pressure cooling air and deep-bed aeration in metals, minerals, ceramics and chemical process plant.

10Frequently Asked Questions

Answers for Specifiers & Buyers

What makes the 919 series a 'high pressure' centrifugal blower?
Impeller geometry and speed. The YBCB-HP-919 runs a high-pressure backward-curved wheel at 2900 RPM, so it develops up to 9149 Pa (about 91 mbar) of static pressure — several times what a general-ventilation centrifugal fan produces — while still moving 617 to 5153 m³/hr. It bridges the gap between a low-pressure CX turbo blower and a positive-displacement machine.
Why is 2900 RPM called out on the curve?
Because centrifugal performance is set by wheel speed, and 2900 RPM is the synchronous speed of a 2-pole motor on a 50 Hz supply. Every flow and pressure figure on the datasheet is referenced to that speed. On a 60 Hz supply the same wheel turns nearer 3500 RPM and the whole curve shifts up — which is why we need your supply frequency to quote accurately.
How do I read the two airflow figures per model?
They are the ends of the operating window on the blower's curve. The blower delivers the higher pressure at the lower flow (loaded) and the lower pressure at the higher flow (open). Your real duty sits between them at the system resistance you present. Size so your design point lands comfortably inside the window, not at either extreme.
What duties is the 919 series built for?
Heavy industrial extraction and process air: high-resistance dust and fume collection, combustion and burner air, drying ovens, pneumatic and vacuum conveying, and central extraction where the ducting resistance is high. Wherever you need real static pressure and high volume from one direct-drive machine, this is the family.
Is it direct drive, and what motor is fitted?
Yes — direct drive, impeller on the motor shaft, no belts to tension. Standard motor is a 2-pole TEFC IE2/IE3 unit, IP55, rated from 0.75 kW (1 HP) to 18.5 kW (25 HP). For export we wind for your voltage and frequency; state both on the RFQ.
The larger models are loud — how is noise managed?
High static pressure at 2900 RPM is inherently noisy; the range runs from 84 dB(A) up to 105 dB(A) on the 18.5 kW unit. Inlet and outlet silencers, lagged ducting and acoustic enclosures bring it down. Tell us your site noise limit and we will specify the treatment with the blower.
