HIGH PRESSURE SERIES · YEBL-HP

Past one bar. Still oil-free.

The YEBL-HP series is regeneration taken to the deep end — multi-stage side-channel blowers that reach 1040 mbar of pressure and -730 mbar of vacuum on a 10 HP frame, where ordinary ring blowers run out of lift. Five trims, 2 to 10 HP, all oil-free.

01Positioning

Where the High Pressure Series sits

The side-channel family is a pressure ladder. Knowing which rung your duty needs stops you over-buying a triple-stage machine for a single-stage job — or under-buying and stalling.

Single stage · YEBL-1

up to ~460 mbar / -340 mbar

Flow-led general duty — aeration, light vacuum, conveying.

02Working Principle

Stacking stages to cross one bar

The High Pressure Series works on the same regenerative principle as every ring blower — a vaned impeller throwing air into a side channel and scooping it back, adding a pressure step on every pass. The difference is how many times that whole sequence is repeated in series. The DS trims put two full stages back to back; the TS flagship adds a third. Each stage begins regenerating from the raised pressure the previous stage handed it, so the increments compound rather than average.

Compounding is what lets a purely aerodynamic, contact-free machine climb past atmospheric pressure differential — 1040 mbar is more than a full bar of lift with no piston, no lobe and no lubrication. Run the same machine from its suction port and the stages compound in the other direction to pull -730 mbar of vacuum. It is the deepest duty the side-channel architecture reaches while staying oil-free.

The trade-offs are honest: more stages mean more length, more weight per HP, more heat in the air and a stricter demand on the relief valve. But for clean-air high-pressure or high-vacuum work that must stay contamination-free, no other compact machine matches it.

03Match the trim to the duty

Choosing within the series

Inside the YEBL-HP range the choice is set by the pressure or vacuum figure you must actually hold, and airflow follows. The YEBL-HP-DS-47 opens the range at 650 mbar on a compact 2 HP frame for small, deep-pressure jobs where flow is a trickle. Step up through the DS trims and both pressure and flow grow together — the YEBL-HP-DS-120 holds 820 mbar at 120 m³/hr for mid-band deep aeration and vacuum.

When the duty crosses into genuine over-one-bar territory — or needs the -730 mbar vacuum no double stage reaches — the triple-stage YEBL-HP-TS-175 is the answer, and it is the only trim in the family that gets you there. Do not over-specify it for a job a DS trim covers: the third stage adds weight, heat and cost you only want when the duty truly demands the reach.

Match the trim to the duty

  • 650–750 mbar, low flow: YEBL-HP-DS-47 / DS-87.
  • 740–820 mbar, mid flow: YEBL-HP-DS-120 / DS-165.
  • Up to 1040 mbar or -730 mbar: YEBL-HP-TS-175 only.
  • Still under 660 mbar? A double-stage YEBL-DS is cheaper.

05Construction & Materials

Engineered for the load a full bar imposes

Multi-stage housing

Two or three aligned side channels in a rigid casing, ported so each stage feeds the next with minimal inter-stage loss. Heavier per HP than a standard side-channel because the sustained pressure load demands it — weight runs 28 kg to 86 kg across the five trims.

Impellers & shaft

Two or three balanced aluminium impellers on one motor shaft — no coupling, no gearbox. Tight, precise clearances hold the pressure; the impellers are the only wearing surfaces and are serviceable as spares from the YEBL-IMP range.

Protection is mandatory

At 1040 mbar a relief valve and inlet filter are not accessories — they are required. Supplied with the unit. Give the motor fan cowl clear cooling air; multi-stage air runs hot, and a dead-headed high-pressure blower overheats fast.

06Install & Maintain

Commissioning & Care

Install on a rigid level base, confirm rotation against the housing arrow, fit flexible connectors to isolate pipe strain, and never let the machine run against a fully closed valve. Log baseline current at commissioning — a rising amp reading at the deep end is the earliest warning of a clogged filter or restricted line.

07Applications

Duties that demand the deep end

  • Deep vacuum liftingHolding and lifting heavy or porous loads where -730 mbar is needed on an oil-free machine — CNC hold-down of thick stock, deep-draw forming.
  • High-pressure aerationVery deep tanks and high-backpressure diffuser grids that need 700–1040 mbar continuously.
  • Gas boosting & leak testClean-air pressure boosting and leak-testing where oil contamination would invalidate the result.
  • Dense conveying & degassingHigher-pressure conveying and vacuum degassing in food, pharma and plastics that ordinary side-channel blowers cannot reach.

10Frequently Asked Questions

Answers for Specifiers & Buyers

What makes the High Pressure Series different from a standard side-channel blower?
Staging. A standard single-stage ring blower tops out near 330–460 mbar; even a normal double stage reaches around 660 mbar. The YEBL-HP series is engineered specifically for the deep end — multi-stage regenerative construction that reaches 1040 mbar pressure and -730 mbar vacuum. Same oil-free principle, purpose-built for the pressures other side-channel blowers cannot hold.
How high can this series really go?
The flagship YEBL-HP-TS-175 reaches 1040 mbar of pressure and -730 mbar of vacuum on a 10 HP frame — over one bar of pressure and close to three-quarters of an atmosphere of vacuum from a single oil-free side-channel machine. The DS trims below it cover 650–820 mbar for the mid-deep band.
What do the DS and TS suffixes mean?
DS marks the double-stage high-pressure trims (YEBL-HP-DS-47 through -165); TS marks the triple-stage flagship (YEBL-HP-TS-175). More stages in series means each hands its discharge to the next, stacking pressure step on step — which is exactly how the series reaches past one bar.
Is a high-pressure side-channel blower still oil-free?
Yes. Adding stages adds impellers, not oil. No impeller touches its housing, there is no lubrication in the gas path, and the delivered air stays 100% oil-free even at 1040 mbar — which is the whole reason to choose this over an oil-flooded machine for clean-air high-pressure duty.
When should I choose YEBL-HP over a positive-displacement or liquid-ring machine?
When you need deep pressure or vacuum AND clean, oil-free, pulsation-free air from a compact, low-maintenance unit. The YEBL-HP has one moving assembly, no lubrication and no water circuit. If your duty is deeper still, or needs sustained rough vacuum with liquid tolerance, our vacuum-pump families may suit better — tell us the point and we will advise honestly.
Does running at 1040 mbar demand special installation care?
Yes. At these pressures a correctly sized relief valve is mandatory, inlet filtration is non-negotiable, and cooling clearance around the motor is critical — the air gains significant heat across multiple stages. We supply the relief valve and filter with the unit and set out the commissioning steps; follow them and the machine runs reliably at the deep end for years.
