01Overview
Vacuum in Two Places, Pressure in One
The YBVVP is an oil-free dry pump with a distinctive port configuration: two independent vacuum ports and one pressure port on a single machine. It exists for processes that need to pull vacuum in two separate places at the same time — without those two zones stealing air from each other — while still supplying pressure air from the same unit.
Each vacuum port reaches −600 mbar; the pressure port delivers +600 mbar. Four models span 60 to 140 m³/hr and 3 to 7.5 kW. Like all our dry pumps it is 100% oil-free, so neither vacuum zone nor the pressure air can mark or contaminate the substrate — critical on printed and coated stock.
Built around a machine, not a bench
Most pumps give you one vacuum and, at best, one pressure. Real production machines are not so tidy: a press has a feeder anda delivery; a converting line has multiple hold-down zones. The YBVVP is shaped to that reality, giving line-builders a single pump that serves two vacuum stations independently and one pressure duty besides.
02Working Principle
How the Dry Multi-Port Pump Works
At its core the YBVVP is the same oil-free timing-gear design as our other dry pumps: rotors meshed and synchronised so they never touch, sealing on tight mechanical clearances rather than oil. What changes is the porting — the casing is arranged to present two separate vacuum tappings and one pressure tapping, each communicating with the pumping action in a controlled way.
Because there is no oil in the chamber, all three air services are clean. The gearbox oil that lubricates bearings and timing gears is sealed away from the gas path — it never reaches your vacuum zones or your pressure air.
The engineering that matters most here is how the casing keeps the two vacuum tappings from communicating internally. If they shared a common chamber, a demand on one would immediately be felt on the other and the independence would be lost inside the pump itself. The YBVVP is arranged so that each vacuum port draws its own share of the pumping action — which is precisely why plumbing them on separate external lines preserves, rather than fakes, two genuinely independent vacuum zones.
03Port Configuration
Reading the Two-Vacuum, One-Pressure Layout
The value of this pump is in its ports, so it is worth understanding the layout before you plumb it.
- Vacuum Port 1 & Vacuum Port 2 — two independent suction connections, each capable of −600 mbar. Kept on separate lines back to the pump, they serve two zones that do not interfere with one another.
- Pressure Port — a single discharge connection at +600 mbar for sheet float, air-blow, ejection or feed.
Why independence matters
If you branched one vacuum port into two zones, a surge of demand at one zone — a large sheet, an open station — would collapse vacuum at the other, and registration or hold-down would fail. Two dedicated vacuum ports keep each zone stable. The YBVVP gives you that independence in a single pump instead of forcing you to buy two.
Printing & paper converting focus
This configuration was shaped by print and paper-converting machines — folders, feeders, coaters and sheeters — where vacuum hold-down and registration happen at more than one point and clean, oil-free air is non-negotiable on the substrate.
Sizing and plumbing the ports
Work out the airflow each vacuum zone needs at −600 mbar and add them together — the pump has to satisfy both zones at once, so size on the combined demand with margin for leakage and wear. Then handle the pressure duty at +600 mbar separately. The four models step from YBVVP-60 to YBVVP-140 to cover that combined demand.
The one rule that makes or breaks the installation is to keep each vacuum port on its own line all the way back to the pump. The moment you tee two zones onto a single port you have recreated the very problem this pump was built to avoid — a surge at one station robbing the other. Two ports, two lines, two independent zones: that is the discipline the YBVVP rewards.

- Motor: TEFC induction, 3–7.5 kW, wound for your supply.

Installation
- Mount on a rigid base with clearance for cooling; ambient below 40 °C.
- Run each vacuum port on its own line to its zone — do not manifold them together, or you lose the independence you paid for.
- Fit a YEBL-FA filter on each vacuum inlet and a condensate knock-out where liquid can carry over.
- Size and route the pressure line separately; label all three ports.
- Confirm motor rotation direction before loading the machine.
Maintenance schedule
- Weekly: check and clean both inlet filters; confirm cooling path is clear.
- Periodically: check sealed gearbox oil level.
- Annually: inspect bearings, timing gears and clearances; verify −600 mbar on each vacuum port and +600 mbar on the pressure port.
Keeping Two Vacuum Zones Independent
The faults unique to this pump are about the ports. Diagnose per port, not per pump.
- One vacuum zone collapses when the other loads up — the classic sign the two vacuum ports have been manifolded together somewhere. Separate the lines so each port runs its own zone.
- Both vacuum ports weak — this is the pump, not the plumbing: clogged inlet filters, worn clearances or ingested debris. Clean both filters first.
- Pressure port weak — a restriction or leak in the discharge line. Trace and clear it.
- Running hot — three air services generate heat; keep the cooling path clear and stay within the rated duty.
- Noise or vibration — inspect bearings and timing gears; confirm nothing has been drawn past a filter on either vacuum port.
