SINGLE STAGE TURBINE BLOWER · YEBL-1
One impeller. Oil-free air. Six names.
The YEBL-1 is a single-stage regenerative blower — the machine your catalogue may call a ring, side channel, vortex or vacuum blower. Twenty-four trims span 0.25 to 24.5 HP, 80 to 1370 m³/hr, up to 460 mbar pressure and -340 mbar vacuum — from the same, single spinning wheel.

01SIX NAMES · ONE MACHINE
Why this blower answers to six different names
Buyers in different industries learned the same machine under different labels, so the market carries six. Search for any of them and you land on the YEBL-1. The physics is identical — a single radial-vaned impeller spinning inside a crescent-shaped side channel. Understanding the names keeps you from over-buying a two-stage unit when a ring blower is exactly what your process needs.
- Ring blower — The side channel forms a ring around the impeller.
- Side channel blower — Names the channel that regenerates the flow.
- Regenerative blower — Energy is added regeneratively, pass after pass.
- Turbine blower — The bladed impeller reads like a turbine wheel.
- Vortex blower — Air spins in a vortex between vane and channel.
- Vacuum blower — Run off the suction port, it is a vacuum source.
02WORKING PRINCIPLE
Regeneration: adding pressure one spin at a time
A ring blower does not slam air like a positive-displacement lobe pump, and it does not simply fling it outward like a plain centrifugal fan. It does both, repeatedly. As the impeller turns, each pocket of air between two vanes is thrown outward into the side channel by centrifugal force, decelerates, and is scooped back into the next deeper vane pocket closer to the hub. The air re-enters the blade path and is accelerated again.
That capture-and-return happens dozens of times as the air travels the arc from inlet to outlet — the flow is “regenerated” on every pass, and each pass adds a small increment of pressure. Stack enough small increments around the channel and a single stage lifts air to several hundred millibar with no pulsation and no contact between rotating and static parts.
Because the impeller never touches the housing, there is nothing to lubricate in the gas path and nothing to wear. The trade-off is characteristic: push more flow through a wider impeller and you regenerate fewer pressure steps per revolution, so peak pressure eases. That single relationship explains the entire 24-model spread below — high-pressure trims run narrow and slow on flow; high-flow trims run wide and modest on pressure.
03Selection Guide
Picking a Trim From 24
Fix the pressure or vacuum you must hold first: across the YEBL-1 range pressure spans 100 to 460 mbar and vacuum -100 to -340 mbar. Then size on airflow. The 24 trims cover 80 to 1370 m³/hr on 0.25 to 24.5 HP, so the same airflow is available at more than one power rating — the higher-power trim is the one that holds the higher pressure.
04PERFORMANCE DATA · 24 MODELS
Filter the range to your duty point
Every YEBL-1 trim, every column, verbatim from the datasheet. Set a minimum power and minimum airflow to narrow the 24 models to the ones that clear your requirement, then read across for pressure, vacuum, noise and shipping weight. Values are nominal at 415 V / 50 Hz on a clean, unrestricted port.
Note · YEBL-1370HP prints without the ‘-1-’ series segment on the brochure and its 187 kg mass is a large step over the 126 kg 24.5 HP trim — confirm the exact code and weight on your PI before finalising freight.

05MATERIALS & CONSTRUCTION
Cast aluminium where it counts, cast iron where it must
Housing & cover
Pressure-die-cast aluminium alloy on the small and mid trims — light, corrosion-resistant and a good heat sink for the warm regenerated air. Larger high-HP frames move to cast iron for rigidity under sustained 24/7 load, which is one reason shipping weight climbs sharply on the top of the range.
Impeller
A single die-cast aluminium impeller with radial vanes, precision balanced so it can spin at motor speed with the tight impeller-to-channel clearance that regeneration depends on. It is the only wearing surface in the air path — replaceable as a spare from the YEBL-IMP impeller range.
Motor & seals
Close-coupled TEFC induction motor, IE2/IE3 efficiency, IP55, F-class insulation, impeller mounted directly on the shaft so there is no coupling to align. Lip seals and a machined side channel keep leakage low and the delivered air oil-free.
Every unit ships with an integral silencer on inlet and outlet, and an optional inlet filter and pressure/vacuum relief valve — the two accessories that most affect field life. Under-filtered air abrades the impeller; an unset relief valve lets the blower dead-head and overheat. Both are inexpensive insurance on a machine expected to run for years.
06INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE
Installation & Maintenance
Mount the blower on a flat, rigid base with the shaft horizontal unless the datasheet permits otherwise, and leave clear space around the motor fan cowl — these machines are air-cooled and a blocked cowl is the most common cause of a nuisance thermal trip. Always fit a relief valve sized to the duty so the unit can never run fully dead-headed; a regenerative blower with a closed port converts all its shaft power into heat within minutes.
Fit an inlet filter and keep it clean. The tight running clearance that makes the blower efficient is the same clearance that a swallowed particle will score. On vacuum duty, protect the suction line from liquid carry-over. Support the pipe so its weight never hangs on the blower flanges, and use a short flexible connector to keep motor vibration and pipe strain apart.
Service interval, briefly
- Check / clean inlet filter — weekly to monthly by dust load.
- Confirm relief-valve setting and listen for pulsation on start.
- Re-grease / replace motor bearings on the hour schedule.
- Verify current draw against nameplate — a rising amp reading flags a clogged filter or a restricted line.
- Inspect impeller clearance at overhaul; swap from YEBL-IMP if scored.
07WHERE IT RUNS
One blower, a dozen process lines
- Effluent & STP aeration — Oil-free diffused-air aeration in sewage and effluent treatment. The 3–10 HP pressure trims feed fine-bubble diffusers at the 250–380 mbar most tank depths need.
- Aquaculture & biofloc — Continuous pond and biofloc aeration where any oil in the air would kill stock. Reliable 24/7 duty is the whole requirement, and the ring blower is built for it.
- Pick-and-place vacuum — Run off the suction port, mid trims hold vacuum for pick-and-place, printing feed tables, labelling and packaging lines that lift sheet and film on a vacuum cup.
- Pneumatic conveying — Low-pressure dilute-phase conveying of powders and granules — dosing, de-dusting and vacuum lifting in food, plastics and pharma plants.
- Electroplating agitation — Air agitation of plating and rinse tanks. Oil-free air keeps the bath chemistry clean while high flow rolls the solution evenly across the work.
- CNC & soldering extraction — Vacuum hold-down on routers and vacuum de-solder / fume draw on electronics benches, where compact, quiet, oil-free air is worth more than raw pressure.

11Who Builds It
Since 1998 — 26+ Years of Air Engineering in Faridabad
Yash Blowers has built regenerative blowers in Faridabad since 1998 — more than 26 years of making one machine well before calling it six things. The YEBL-1 is our highest-volume family, which means the trim you order is a proven, repeatable build, not a one-off.
Every unit is tested to its datasheet point before it leaves the works and carries an ISO 9001:2015 quality certificate. That track record — 10,000+ customers, hundreds of units out the door each day — is why OEMs standardise on the YEBL-1 and stock our impellers as spares.
Yash Blowers Private Limited has manufactured blowers and vacuum pumps from its ISO 9001:2015 plant in IMT Faridabad since 1998. Machining, assembly, balancing and testing are done in-house — so the machine you buy is the machine we built, backed by a 12-month warranty and a spares network that keeps decades-old units running.
