01Overview
Clean Vacuum, No Oil, No Compromise
The YBDVP dry vacuum pump is 100% oil-free: there is no oil in the pumping chamber, so there is nothing to migrate into your process and nothing in the exhaust but the air you drew in. For any operation where a trace of oil would spoil the product, fail an audit or breach a clean-room specification, that single fact changes everything.
Ten models deliver a consistent −850 mbar ultimate vacuum across 10 to 351 m³/hr and 0.37 to 11 kW, all at 1440 rpm. You get the clean vacuum of a dry design with the sizing flexibility of a full range — from a benchtop 0.37 kW unit to an 11 kW central-vacuum machine.
Why oil-free, and why it matters most up front
An oil-sealed pump uses oil to seal, lubricate and cool — and that oil can find its way into the vacuum line and out of the exhaust as mist. Filters reduce it; they do not eliminate it. In pharmaceutical, food and electronicswork, “reduced” is not good enough. The dry YBDVP eliminates the oil path completely, which is why we put those contamination-sensitive industries first: they are the reason this pump exists.
There is a lifetime-cost story here as well. An oil-sealed pump needs vacuum oil, scheduled oil changes, oil-mist exhaust filters and a route to dispose of used oil — recurring cost and recurring labour. The dry YBDVP removes all of it: no oil to buy, no oil to change, no mist filter to replace, no waste oil to handle. You pay more at purchase and less every year after, while the exhaust stays clean enough to vent into the workspace without an oil haze.
02Working Principle
How Dry (Oil-Free) Vacuum Works
In a dry vacuum pump the rotors are held on precision timing gears so they mesh closely but never touch each other or the housing. Air is trapped between rotor and casing, carried around, and expelled — all on tight mechanical clearances instead of an oil seal. No contact means no lubricating fluid is needed in the pumping chamber; the only oil in the machine is sealed away in the gearbox and bearings, isolated from the gas path.
The vacuum level a dry pump reaches is set by how tight those clearances are held. The YBDVP is machined to hold −850 mbar consistently across its range. Because there is no oil vapour, the exhaust is clean and the vacuum is free of hydrocarbon back-streaming — the property clean processes depend on.
Dry vs oil-sealed — the honest comparison
Oil-sealed pumps reach deeper vacuum and cost less to buy. Dry pumps give clean vacuum, no oil consumables, and no oil disposal, at a higher purchase price. If your duty needs sub-millibar depth and oil is acceptable, choose our ACME or DSVP oil pumps. If your process cannot tolerate oil, the YBDVP is the correct — and often the only compliant — choice.

Materials & Build
- Rotors & housing: precision-machined to hold the tight running clearances that make an oil-free seal.
- Timing gears: hardened and ground, keeping the rotors synchronised so they never contact.
- Bearings & gearbox: the only lubricated zone — fully isolated from the pumping chamber and the gas path.
- Cooling: air-cooled design with a clear cooling path; dry pumps generate heat that must be shed, so airflow around the unit matters.
- Motor: TEFC induction, 0.37–11 kW, wound for your supply and frequency.
- Inlet protection: takes a YEBL-FA filter; a knock-out pot is recommended where solids or condensate can carry over.

Installation
- Site in a clean, ventilated area with clearance for cooling airflow; keep ambient below 40 °C.
- Fit a YEBL-FA inlet filter — nothing must enter the rotors, since there is no oil to flush particulates away.
- Add a knock-out pot / condensate trap where the process can carry over liquid or solids.
- Keep inlet piping full-bore and leak-tight; check motor rotation direction before running.
Maintenance schedule
- Weekly: check and clean the inlet filter; confirm the cooling path is clear.
- Periodically: check gearbox oil level (this oil never touches your process) and top up per the manual.
- Annually: inspect bearings, timing gears and rotor clearances; verify vacuum against −850 mbar.
No process-oil changes, no mist filters, no oil disposal — dry-pump maintenance is mostly keeping the inlet clean and the pump cool.
Keeping a Dry Pump Healthy
A dry pump has no oil to mask problems, so faults show early and clear. That is an advantage — act on them promptly.
- Vacuum short of −850 mbar — check for an inlet leak and a clogged filter first, then suspect dust in the rotors or worn running clearances. Leak-check, clean the filter, and inspect the rotors if it persists.
- Running hot — dry pumps generate real heat and rely on airflow to shed it. Clear the cooling path, ventilate the space, and confirm ambient is below 40 °C.
- Unusual noise or vibration — inspect bearings and timing gears, and check whether debris has been ingested past the filter.
- Product or condensate reaching the pump — there is no knock-out pot, or it is full. Fit or empty the trap; nothing but clean gas should reach the rotors.
- Gearbox oil low — top up the sealed gearbox per the manual. This oil lubricates gears and bearings only and never touches your process gas.
