01Overview
Protect the Investment Behind It
An air filter assembly is the least glamorous and most cost-effective part on an air-machine installation. The YEBL-FA sits at the inlet of a blower or vacuum pump and stops dust, grit, fibre and debris from being drawn into the machine — the single most common cause of premature impeller, bore, bearing and seal wear.
Eight models cover 35 to 880 m³/hr with connections from 0.5″ to 4″, so there is a correctly matched filter for every blower and pump we build. Weights run from just 1 kg up to 14.5 kg for the largest — small, simple hardware doing an outsized job.
The protect-your-investment case
Think about what the filter guards. A turbine blower impeller spins at thousands of rpm on fine clearances; a rotary vane pump seals on a honed bore; an oil-sealed pump depends on clean oil. Let abrasive dust in and all three degrade fast — lost performance, unbalanced rotors, contaminated oil, early failure. The filter is a few percent of the machine’s cost and it prevents the failures that cost you the machine. Fit it first, service it on schedule, and everything downstream lasts longer.
The economics of a cheap part
Put numbers to it. A replacement element is a routine consumable; a scored impeller, a re-honed bore, a set of vanes or a seized pump is a major repair and lost production while the machine is down. The filter converts an unpredictable capital failure into a predictable, cheap service item. That is the entire argument for fitting one — and for never running a blower or vacuum pump without it.
The second economic lever is pressure drop. A filter correctly sized for the duty presents a large media area, so it holds a low resistance to flow and only needs servicing occasionally. Undersize it and the machine works against a rising restriction every hour it runs — wasting energy, running hotter, and clogging so fast that maintenance becomes a chore. Sizing on airflow is not just about protection; it is about running efficiently between services.

Where the Filter Sits on the Line
The rule is simple: the filter goes first. Ambient air — with whatever dust your environment carries — enters the filter, leaves it clean, and only then reaches the blower or vacuum pump. Every particle stopped at the filter is a particle that never touches the impeller, the bore or the oil.
- On a blower — at the intake, ahead of the impeller housing.
- On a vacuum pump — on the suction side, ahead of the pump inlet.
- Access — mount it where the element can be cleaned or swapped without breaking pipework.
- Orientation — follow the flow direction and keep the body clear of splash and standing water.
A filter fitted downstream, hidden behind an elbow, or too small for the duty defeats its own purpose. Fit it first, size it right, keep it reachable.

Materials & Build
- Filter element: pleated media sized for a large dust-holding area, so the filter runs longer between services and holds low pressure drop.
- Housing: robust body built to survive an industrial floor — knocks, vibration and continuous duty.
- Connection: threaded / flanged inlet-outlet in the nominal size to bolt straight to the machine.
- Serviceable: element cleans or replaces without special tools; the housing stays on the line.
The pleated design is deliberate: pleating packs a large media area into a compact body, so the filter captures fine dust without choking airflow and goes longer between services than a flat panel of the same face size. That large area is what keeps the pressure drop low while the element still holds the grit you need it to hold.

Installation
- Mount at the machine inlet, upstream of everything, following the flow-direction arrow.
- Match the connection to the machine inlet and keep the filter accessible for service.
- Keep the body out of splash, spray and standing water.
Maintenance
- Check on a schedule set by how dusty your environment is — weekly in cement, paper or grinding areas; monthly in cleaner plants.
- Clean or replace the element before it chokes; a blocked filter starves the machine and makes it run hot.
- Watch machine performance — a drop in flow or a rise in temperature often means the filter, not the machine, is the problem.
Reading a Filter’s Warning Signs
A filter tells you when it needs attention through the machine behind it. Learn to read the signs before they become failures.
- Machine losing flow or running hot — the element is choked and starving the machine. Clean or replace it; a blocked filter is the most common cause of an over-heating blower or pump.
- Element clogging very fast — the filter is undersized for the dust load, or the environment is exceptionally dirty. Step up a size or add a pre-separator / cyclone ahead of it.
- Dust reaching the machine anyway — the element is damaged, wrongly seated, or air is bypassing the media. Replace the element and check it seals in the housing.
- High pressure drop across the filter — the media is blinded even if it looks clean. Service it on condition, not just on appearance.
- Poor flow from a new install — the connection or the rating does not match the machine. Re-select on airflow and connection size.
