A sequencing batch reactor treats wastewater in timed phases in a single deep tank — fill, react (aerate), settle and decant — so the blower runs hard through the react phase and stands down through settle and decant. Two things follow: the basin is usually deep, so the blower needs solid head, and the duty is cyclic, so it must start, run and idle cleanly on a repeating schedule without complaint. A two-stage ring blower gives the pressure a deep SBR basin demands; a relief valve manages the back-pressure swing as the tank fills and the diffusers load. Oil-free running keeps the process air clean through every cycle.
