Air & Vacuum for the Automotive & Engineering Sector

A high-volume two-wheeler plant is a wall-to-wall air problem — paint-booth supply and exhaust, weld and grinding fume extraction, and vacuum on assembly fixtures.

CTXWhat this sector runs

Paint is where the air load concentrates. Spray booths need high-pressure supply and exhaust air to hold face velocity and cure ovens need clean process air, all of it steady and oil-free where it meets the coating. Alongside paint, weld shops and machining cells generate fume and dust that centrifugal extraction has to pull away from operators continuously.

The assembly and press side adds vacuum — for lifting and de-stacking panels, and for holding parts on fixtures. That is a moderate-vacuum, high-cycle duty. Reading the plant as centrifugal air for paint and extraction plus vacuum for handling is the recommended structure.

ENGEngineering notes

Balancing a paint booth

A spray booth lives or dies on face velocity, which depends on supply and exhaust air staying in balance against filter loading. Size the high-pressure centrifugal blower to the booth's airflow and its static pressure together — as filters load, static rises, and a blower without pressure margin lets face velocity fall out of spec. The recommended approach specifies both numbers up front and picks a machine that holds airflow across the filter's life, so paint quality does not drift between filter changes.

Vacuum lifting at line rate

Panel de-stacking and lifting on a two-wheeler line is a high-cycle vacuum duty — rapid grip-and-release, many times a minute. The pump has to re-establish vacuum fast enough that the next pick is not delayed, so it is sized for cycle speed as much as for hold. A robust YELV pump with adequate displacement keeps the cups gripping through fast pick-and-place, and keeping a spare avoids a single vacuum fault stalling a line measured in units per minute.

Serviced in units-per-minute time

A two-wheeler line measures downtime in units per minute, so its support machinery has to be serviceable now, not next quarter — which makes the domestic spares chain part of the specification. A paint-booth blower or a lifting-vacuum pump rebuilt in days rather than imported keeps a stoppage short. Sizing paint blowers with static-pressure margin and handling vacuum for quick re-grip gives headroom before wear shows. On a high-volume line, machinery chosen partly for how quickly it can be rebuilt and re-supplied domestically is machinery that protects the cadence the whole plant is built around.

WHYWhy Yash Blowers

An auto line measures downtime in units per minute, so the machinery behind paint and handling has to be serviceable now, not next quarter. Yash Blowers builds in Faridabad, since 1998, to ISO 9001:2015, with impellers cast and dynamically balanced in-house and 300+ machines dispatched daily — so a paint-booth blower or a lifting-vacuum pump is an Indian spares chain, not an import.

FAQFrequently asked questions

What air does a spray paint booth need?

Balanced high-pressure supply and exhaust to hold booth face velocity, with clean air where it meets the coating. The recommended class is a high-pressure centrifugal blower sized to the booth's airflow and static pressure.

What handles panel lifting on a press line?

Vacuum lifting on suction cups, driven by a robust vacuum pump. It is a high-cycle duty, so the YELV class is recommended for its ability to hold vacuum through rapid pick-and-place.
