A pick-and-place head lives or dies on vacuum response. Each cycle grabs a part on suction cups, moves it, then releases — often many times a second — so the pump has to build vacuum quickly, hold it firmly through the move, and let the head break vacuum cleanly for a crisp release. The flow per cup is small but the switching is relentless, which rewards a machine that recovers fast and runs cool on continuous duty. Oil-free is essential in electronics and packaging where an oil film would ruin boards or product. A dry vacuum pump is the standard; where the head also needs a pressure blow-off to eject parts, a combined vacuum-and-pressure pump supplies both.
