Air & Vacuum for the Dairy, Food & FMCG Sector

An integrated processor that runs milk, edible oil and horticulture under one roof carries an unusually wide air-and-vacuum load — from pouch packing to deodoriser vacuum to cold-store effluent.

CTXWhat this sector runs

Edible-oil refining brings a duty most pure-milk plants never see: deodorisation and drying run under deep process vacuum, and the bleaching and packing steps add their own hold-down and conveying loads. Alongside that, the fresh-milk side needs hygienic packaging vacuum, and the fruit-and-vegetable side adds vacuum cooling and packing. It is a genuinely mixed brief.

The right way to read a plant like this is duty-by-duty rather than product-by-product. Deep vacuum for oil processing, oil-free vacuum for milk and juice packing, and continuous low-pressure air for the site effluent plant are three different machines — grouping them by function rather than by product line is what keeps each one correctly sized.

SOLRecommended Yash families

Our standard solution for the dairy, food & fmcg sector

01 / Family

Dry Vacuum Pump (YBDVP)

Oil-free vacuum for milk, juice and edible-oil packing where product hygiene is non-negotiable.

02 / Family

Vacuum Pump (YELV)

Higher-capacity liquid-ring-class vacuum for the deeper drying and process duties on the oil side.

ENGEngineering notes

Reading a multi-product site

The discipline that keeps an integrated milk-and-oil site correctly equipped is to group duties by function, not by product. Deep vacuum for oil drying, oil-free vacuum for milk and juice packing, and continuous low-pressure air for the shared effluent plant are three distinct machines with three distinct duty points. Written on one datasheet they invite a single compromise pump; written as three, each gets the right family. State each duty separately — depth, flow and continuity — and the selection follows cleanly rather than settling on an average that suits none of them.

Process vacuum vs packing vacuum

Oil-side drying and deodorising pull deeper vacuum for long campaigns, so those duties favour higher-capacity YELV pumps built for stamina. Milk and juice packing wants moderate, oil-free vacuum in short bursts. Sharing one system across both means either the packing side runs oil-sealed — a hygiene risk — or the process side runs undersized. The recommended structure keeps them independent, which also isolates a fault: a service on the oil-side train never idles the fresh-packing floor, and vice versa.

WHYWhy Yash Blowers

For a multi-product food site, the value is in one supplier covering the whole air-and-vacuum spread without farming duties out. Yash Blowers has done exactly that from Faridabad since 1998, holds ISO 9001:2015, casts and balances its own impellers, and dispatches 300+ machines a day — so a plant running milk, oil and produce lines can source packaging vacuum, process vacuum and aeration air from a single Indian manufacturer with a single spares chain.

FAQFrequently asked questions

Do edible-oil and milk lines use the same vacuum pump?

Rarely. Milk and juice packing wants oil-free vacuum at moderate depth, while oil drying and deodorising pull deeper vacuum. The recommended approach uses the dry YBDVP class on the hygienic packing side and a higher-capacity YELV pump for the oil-processing duty.

What blower suits a site-wide effluent plant?

A single-stage turbine blower. It delivers the high air volume at low pressure that diffused aeration needs, and runs continuously and efficiently — the standard aeration recommendation for large food sites.
