Vacuum sets the wall
In pipe extrusion the calibration tank's vacuum pulls the soft extrudate against the sizing sleeve, and the vacuum level directly sets wall thickness and roundness. It is continuous and tightly controlled — a drop shows immediately as an out-of-round or thin-walled pipe. A steady YELV vacuum pump holds that level through the whole campaign, which is why calibration vacuum is specified for stable hold rather than peak, and why it is the process's real dimensional control.
Cooling sets the output
Downstream cooling over the spray and immersion tanks decides how fast the line can run once the wall is set.
