Thermal control on die-cast cells

Aluminium die-casting is a thermal process, and dimensional consistency depends on holding cell temperature steady shift to shift. Cooling and extraction air is the lever, so the blower has to deliver constant airflow — a drifting fan means drifting dimensions. A dynamically balanced CX machine holds that airflow without the vibration and output creep of an unbalanced rotor, which is why in-house-balanced centrifugals are recommended for die-cast cooling where tolerance is measured in microns.

Handling parts clean

Cast and machined components are gripped, lifted and de-stacked on vacuum through the cell and onto assembly, and any oil residue from the grip shows up later as a coating or bonding defect. Oil-free vacuum with blow-off keeps surfaces clean while clearing chips off the fixture. Sizing to the fixture area and cycle rate, and choosing the YBVP class for its clean grip-and-clear, keeps the handling duty from contaminating parts that OEM inspection will scrutinise.
