A vacuum filling machine draws liquid into a container by pulling a vacuum in the headspace, so the pump sets both the fill rate and the fill level — cut the vacuum at the right point and every container fills to the same line. That asks for a steady, controllable vacuum rather than a deep one, and often the ability to handle vapour or a little liquid carryover from the product. A liquid-ring pump is the classic fit: the water ring seals against vapour and slugs of liquid without complaint. Where the product is dry or the line must stay strictly oil-free — food, pharma, cosmetics — a dry pump gives clean vacuum with nothing to contaminate the fill.
