Air & Vacuum for the Chemicals & Paints Sector

Paint and coating manufacturing runs resin synthesis, pigment dispersion and high-speed filling — a chemical process where air handling, vacuum and effluent aeration all play a part.

CTXWhat this sector runs

Resin and paint production uses vacuum for drying, distillation and transfer, and process air for agitation and conveying; because solvents and reactive chemistries are present, air-handling has to be specified with the medium in mind. Pigment and powder handling add conveying and dust duties on positive-pressure air.

Filling lines pull vacuum for can and container hold-down and de-aeration, and the site effluent plant needs continuous aeration for a chemically-loaded waste stream. Reading a paint plant as process vacuum and air for production plus filling vacuum and effluent aeration is the recommended structure — with corrosion and solvent exposure factored into every selection.

ENGEngineering notes

Specify the medium, not just the duty

Paint and resin production puts air and vacuum in contact with solvents and reactive chemistries, so construction and sealing have to suit the medium — the same duty in a benign fluid and in solvent-laden vapour are different selections. The practical step is to state the exposure alongside the flow and depth, so the machine is specified for what it actually handles rather than assumed. That is why paint-plant selections start from the medium, and why stating the duty and exposure up front matters.

A heavier effluent to aerate

A chemically-loaded effluent stream has a higher oxygen demand than a food or municipal one, so the aeration blower is sized to that heavier load, run continuously, and backed by a standby. Undersize it and the tank cannot keep up with the load; oversize it and it wastes energy every hour. A single-stage turbine at the right, higher duty point keeps a paint plant's effluent aerobic and compliant, which is a real utility duty behind the production floor, not an afterthought.

WHYWhy Yash Blowers

Paint plants combine solvents, pigments and a demanding effluent stream, so air machinery has to be selected for the medium and supported closely. Yash Blowers has built process air and vacuum in Faridabad since 1998 under ISO 9001:2015, casts and balances its own impellers, and dispatches 300+ machines a day — with engineers who match construction to the duty and keep spares on an Indian chain.

FAQFrequently asked questions

Does solvent exposure change blower selection for paint plants?

Yes — construction and sealing have to suit the medium where air or vacuum contacts solvent-laden vapour. The recommendation is to state the duty and exposure so the machine is specified correctly rather than assumed.

What vacuum suits paint-can filling?

Oil-free vacuum for hold-down and de-aeration at the filling heads, so the coating is not contaminated. The YBDVP class is recommended for that filling-line duty.

How is a chemically-loaded effluent plant aerated?

With continuous low-pressure turbine air to the aerobic tank, sized to the higher oxygen demand of a chemical waste stream. A single-stage turbine blower, often with standby, is the standard recommendation.
