Dilute-phase pneumatic conveying carries powder, granules or pellets suspended in a fast air stream, and the two numbers that matter are conveying velocity — enough air to keep material airborne to the destination — and the pressure or vacuum to overcome the line's length, bends and lift. A ring blower supplies both cleanly: on a vacuum system it pulls material from several pick-up points to a central receiver; on a pressure system it pushes from one point to many. Single-stage blowers cover shorter lines; longer or more resistant lines need the higher head of a two-stage or high-pressure ring blower. It stays oil-free throughout, so nothing contaminates the conveyed product.

Fix conveying velocity first to keep material entrained, then add the pressure or vacuum for line length, bends and lift. Pick the blower whose curve holds that flow at the system resistance with margin for filter loading.

- Vacuum conveying suits drawing from several pick-up points to one receiver; pressure conveying suits pushing from one point to many drops. A ring blower does either — single-stage for shorter lines, two-stage or high-pressure for long, bendy or lifting runs. Fix conveying velocity first, then add head for the line resistance.
- How do I stop the line from choking?
- Keep the air velocity above the material's saltation point so pellets and powder stay suspended, and size the blower to hold that flow at the full system resistance including a loaded filter. Undersizing the head is the usual cause of choking; we size the curve to the real line, not a rounded figure.
