02HOW THE SIZING WORKS — AND WHAT WE WON'T FAKE

Buying blower spare parts or vacuum pump spare partsshould be the simplest transaction in a plant, and it is usually the most frustrating. The machine has been running for six years, the nameplate is painted over, the original supplier has changed distributor twice, and the person who commissioned it has left. So the enquiry arrives as "I need a filter for a 5 HP ring blower" — and a filter is duly shipped that either strangles the inlet or rattles around in an oversized housing. This tool exists to take that guesswork out of the first step, using the same verbatim catalogue data that prints on our datasheets.

Air filter for blower — sized on rated air flow

Our YEBL-FA air filter assemblies publish a rated air flow in m³/hr against a nominal inlet and outlet size. The finder reads the airflow your chosen machine publishes, then selects the smallest filter whose rating still covers it. That direction matters: an inlet filter that is too small becomes a permanent throttle, and on a side channel blower — which cools itself with the air it pumps — a throttled inlet is a thermal fault waiting to happen. Where your machine moves more air than the largest published assembly, the tool says so plainly and points you at a larger build or a parallel manifold rather than selling you an under-rated part.

PRV — pressure band first, port size second

Our YBPRV valves publish an adjustable set band in millibar and a port size in millimetres. The finder keeps only the valves whose band brackets your machine's published pressure rating, then picks a port large enough to pass the machine's full flow when the valve lifts — using the same airflow-to-line-size relationship published in the filter table, because both accessories sit on the same pipework. If your rating sits outside every published band, the tool refuses to suggest one and tells you to have the valve selected specially. A relief valve fitted above its range is worse than no valve at all, because it gives you the confidence without the protection. Vacuum-only machines get no PRV suggestion either: a vacuum duty needs a vacuum relief valve on the inlet, which is a different part.

Impeller replacement — a size band, labelled as such

Here is where most supplier websites quietly invent a compatibility table. We will not. Our YEBL-IMP range publishes real outer diameter, bore, thickness, key size and fin count for each wheel, but nothing in our published data maps a specific blower model to a specific impeller — because impeller diameter is set by your blower's frame and shaft, not by its duty point. What the tool does instead is honest: it ranks your model against the impeller table's diameters on two published figures that both track frame size — displacement, because swept volume is physically what a larger wheel buys you, and motor rating, because a larger frame carries a larger motor — and shows the resulting size band with its neighbours. Then it tells you to measure the OD, bore and thickness of the wheel in your machine, or send us the model and serial number, before anything is ordered. An impeller that is 5 mm out on diameter or 2 mm out on bore is scrap metal.

Wear items — named, never numbered falsely

Bearings, shaft seals, gasket sets, carbon vanes, vane springs, oil mist eliminators and vacuum pump oil are all genuine consumables, and which ones apply depends entirely on the technology. A side channel blower runs oil-free and non-contact, so its consumable list is essentially bearings, seals and filtration. A dry rotary machine consumes its carbon vanes by design, and the carbon dust it sheds loads the exhaust filter. An oil-sealed rotary vane pump lives or dies on oil condition, and dark or cloudy oil is telling you about contamination long before a vane chips. The finder lists these by name and describes the failure mode each one causes — but never attaches a fabricated part number, because a bearing or a vane set has to be matched to your actual build.

Turning a suggestion into an order

Every suggested part carries a link to its full spec table and a quote request pre-filled with the model number. What our engineers add is the part that no website can automate: reading your nameplate and serial, checking the build record, confirming the flange and shaft, and asking whether the part is failing because it is worn or because something upstream is wrong. A filter that blocks every three weeks is not a filter problem.
