Air & Vacuum for the Dairy, Food & FMCG Sector

A diversified FMCG house running confectionery, beverages, mouth-fresheners and packaged foods carries vacuum on almost every pack line and air on almost every utility.

CTXWhat this sector runs

Confectionery and mouth-freshener packing runs high-speed form-fill-seal and sachet lines, all pulling oil-free vacuum to seat film and evacuate packs at speed. Beverage and food lines add filling hold-down vacuum. The common requirement across these fast lines is clean, reliable vacuum that never contaminates product.

The utility side of such a group — conveying of powders and granules, drying and cooling air, and effluent aeration — is a set of low-pressure blower duties. The recommended reading separates fast oil-free packing vacuum from the turbine and centrifugal air that supports it.

ENGEngineering notes

High-speed packing punishes pumps

Confectionery and sachet lines run fast, and fast lines cycle vacuum hard — the pump sees frequent, sharp draws rather than a steady load. That rewards a machine built for duty cycling and correctly sized to the peak across all heads on the header, with a spare on the shelf. Undersizing shows up as weak seals at top speed, not as a clean failure, so the recommendation is to specify the fastest line condition and match the oil-free YBDVP to it rather than to an average.

Splitting vacuum from support air

A confectionery group's air load splits cleanly: oil-free vacuum for the pack, and turbine and centrifugal air for conveying, drying and cooling. Keeping those on separate machines means the hygienic vacuum never shares a path with process air, and each duty gets its right family. Powder conveying in particular wants controlled-velocity turbine air to avoid segregation and dust, which is a different animal from the sharp vacuum of the pack line — another reason to specify and size them independently.

Fast lines, common spares

High-speed confectionery and sachet packing cycles vacuum hard, so the machinery is chosen for duty-cycle endurance and quick service. Standardising the oil-free packing pumps and the support blowers onto common families means one spare covers many machines, and a domestic maker rebuilds in days rather than an import cycle. Sizing each duty to its peak line condition with margin keeps seals tight at top speed. For a group running fast lines across confectionery, beverages and foods, common spares and domestic supply behind well-sized machines are what keep a fast pack line from being paced by its air system.

WHYWhy Yash Blowers

High-speed packing punishes vacuum machines, so the reliability and spares story is what matters. Yash Blowers builds in Faridabad, has since 1998, works to ISO 9001:2015, casts and balances its own impellers, and dispatches 300+ machines a day — a single Indian source and spares chain behind confectionery, beverage and food lines alike.

FAQFrequently asked questions

Does high-speed sachet packing need a bigger vacuum pump?

Not necessarily bigger, but correctly sized for the peak simultaneous draw across all heads on the header. The oil-free YBDVP class is the recommended packing-vacuum choice; size it to the fastest line condition.

Can one machine give both vacuum and blow-off on a pack line?

Yes — the YBVP vacuum-and-pressure class does both from one oil-free machine, which suits mixed lines that need evacuation and air-jet clearing together.
