CX-SERIES CENTRIFUGAL BLOWER · YBCB-CX / TBM
When the job is moving air, not squeezing it
The CX-series is a single-stage centrifugal turbo blower for high-volume, medium-pressure air — 270 to 6000 m³/hr at up to 7000 Pa. Ten trims from 0.25 to 20 HP handle film, printing, drying and dust collection where a ring blower would be the wrong tool.

01Application-First
What the CX-series was built to do
Centrifugal blowers earn their place on lines where the task is to move a large mass of air across a filter, a web or a drying zone — not to build deep pressure. Three duties define the range.
Beyond these three, the CX-series runs combustion and burner air, cooling and ventilation, aeration where volume beats depth, and general process air. If your resistance is measured in kilopascals and your need is airflow, this is the family. If you are fighting hundreds of millibar, look at the ring blowers or high-pressure centrifugals instead.
02Working Principle
One wheel, one throw, a lot of air
Air enters the CX along the shaft axis, straight into the eye of a bladed impeller. The wheel flings it radially outward; the spiral volute around the impeller catches that fast-moving air and converts its velocity into pressure as the cross-section widens toward the discharge. It is a single energy exchange — accelerate, then diffuse — which is why a centrifugal blower delivers high volume but modest pressure compared with a regenerative machine.
Because the pressure comes from wheel speed, performance scales with RPM: run the same wheel faster and both flow and pressure climb along a predictable curve. That is also why supply frequency matters — a 60 Hz motor spins faster than a 50 Hz one and shifts the whole curve. The impeller blade form (the CX uses an efficient backward-leaning profile on the larger trims) sets how steeply pressure falls as flow rises.
The practical upshot: a centrifugal blower is forgiving of volume and unforgiving of pressure. Ask it to move a great deal of air across a filter or a web and it excels; ask it to hold deep pressure against a nearly closed valve and flow simply collapses down its curve. Size it at the flow you need against the real system resistance, and it will run quietly for years.
03Airflow Coverage
See the range before you read the table
Each bar is a model’s operating flow window — from its loaded (low) figure to its open (high) figure — drawn to one scale. Overlap is deliberate: it lets you pick the trim whose window centres on your design flow rather than one that only reaches it wide open. Click any bar to jump to its full spec row.
A centrifugal blower does not hold one flow; it rides its curve. The window shows where the machine is comfortable, so you can size for the design point with headroom on both sides.

05Construction & Materials
A rigid volute and a well-balanced wheel
Volute & impeller
Fabricated or cast volute with a dynamically balanced steel / aluminium impeller. Balancing is critical on a centrifugal wheel — the CX is balanced to run smooth at speed, which is why the larger TBM trims are heavy and rigid rather than light.
Drive & motor
Direct-drive TEFC motor, IP55, matched to the impeller so flow and pressure land on the datasheet curve. No gearbox, no belt to tension on the standard build.
06Install & care
Installation & Maintenance
Bolt to a flat rigid base, check rotation against the volute arrow, and keep the impeller on filtered or clean air. Watch bearing temperature and vibration; an unbalanced wheel from ingested debris is the usual failure mode. Re-grease bearings on schedule.
On dust-collection duty always mount the CX downstream of the filter so the wheel sees clean air; on drying and web duty keep the inlet clear and the discharge ducting sized to avoid throttling the machine up its curve. Support ductwork independently so its weight never loads the blower flanges.
07Applications
Three duties that define the range
- Film & web handling
270–3300 m³/hr · CX trims— Air flotation, cooling and edge control on plastic film, foil and paper webs. High, steady volume supports and cools the moving web without touching it — the low-pressure, high-flow curve of the CX is exactly right. - Printing & drying
780–4500 m³/hr · CX / TBM— Ink and coating drying, sheet transport and air knives on offset, screen and flexo lines. The CX supplies the volume an air-knife plenum needs to strip moisture and set ink at line speed. - Dust collection
3000–6000 m³/hr · TBM trims— Bag-house and cyclone extraction, fume and fine-dust capture. Mounted on the clean-air side, the high-flow TBM trims hold face velocity across the filter media for continuous collection.

09Export Readiness
Ready to Ship Worldwide
Centrifugal blowers are bulky for their weight, so crating volume drives sea freight. We quote to your Incoterm, protect the volute and shaft in transit, and — critically — wind the motor for your exact frequency, because a 50/60 Hz mismatch moves the whole performance curve.

11Who Builds It
Since 1998 — 26+ Years of Air Engineering in Faridabad
Centrifugal blowers live or die on balance and curve accuracy, and both come from experience. Yash Blowers has been building and matching impeller-and-volute sets in Faridabad since 1998 — the CX-series is a proven, repeatable platform, not a catalogue entry we outsource.
Every unit is run and checked against its rated point before dispatch and carries an ISO 9001:2015 certificate. That consistency is why printers, converters and dust-collection OEMs standardise on the CX across their lines.
Yash Blowers Private Limited has manufactured blowers and vacuum pumps from its ISO 9001:2015 plant in IMT Faridabad since 1998. Machining, assembly, balancing and testing are done in-house — so the machine you buy is the machine we built, backed by a 12-month warranty and a spares network that keeps decades-old units running.
